Architectural Shingle Roofing with Twin Skylights and an Adjacent Low-Slope Section

Project Overview

This roof project combines a pitched shingle roof containing two rectangular skylights with a narrow adjoining low-slope section beside a lattice railing. The photographs record exposed plywood, black synthetic underlayment, active shingle installation, and later views of a dark gray architectural-shingle roof. A brick chimney and multiple roof vents provide additional detail within the main roof field. The low-slope section is a separate part of the visual story. Earlier-looking views show a weathered, streaked surface around outdoor mechanical units; another view shows a dark, more uniform rolled covering. These photographs should be kept together with the pitched-roof work because the railing, equipment positions, roof edge, and neighboring buildings connect the areas.

Analysis

The main roof contains two rectangular skylights on opposite sides of the ridge, a brick chimney, multiple vents, and pipe penetrations. Alongside it is a narrow low-slope section bordered by a lattice railing and occupied by outdoor mechanical units. This combination gives the job several distinct transitions between roofing surfaces, roof openings, and raised components.

Process

The early roof views expose the plywood deck around a skylight. Black TRIBUILT-branded synthetic underlayment follows, with shingles then installed in courses toward the remaining exposed layer. The chimney photograph records this work in progress around the masonry base. The later pitched-roof views show the paired skylights surrounded by gray architectural shingles, with a capped ridge between them. On the adjoining low-slope section, the weathered streaked surface gives way to a darker rolled covering. The fixed railing, equipment positions, and surrounding houses connect that narrow section to the main roof.

Outcome

The later-stage photographs show a dark gray dimensional finish across the pitched roof and a dark rolled surface on the adjoining low-slope area. The twin skylights remain prominent within the new-looking shingle fields. Wider views document the relationship between the skylights, chimney, roof vents, and side roof as parts of the same property.
